Welcome
to the TCI Leadership Program |
| TCI
is a Mass Networks Initiative |
What is TCI-LP?
The Technology & Curriculum Integration Leadership Program is a
year-long series of events designed to help Massachusetts educators
play leadership roles in their district's efforts to use instructional
technology to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Curriculum
Frameworks. Teams from districts across the state come together
to both learn from each other and create statewide momentum for
change that is larger than their individual efforts.
The Mission
School districts throughout Massachusetts are faced with many challenges. These
challenges include:
- Revising curriculum to address the content standards and pedagogy
of the Curriculum Frameworks.
- Building a technology infrastructure and integrating the use
of technology into regular classroom practice.
Instructional technology is a powerful curricular tool that can
significantly increase student involvement and achievement. This
program is designed to help district teams play leadership roles
in their districts' efforts to make optimal use of education technology
in the context of addressing the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
The program aims to have a statewide impact through the documentation
and sharing of effective strategies and successful experiences.
This communication, collaboration, and information sharing will
take place both at person-to-person meetings and via various online
activities.
The Program
The 2001-2002 TCI-4 program began with a five-day Summer
Institute held at the University of Massachusetts Hoagland-Pincus
Conference Center in Shrewsbury from July 9 - July 13, 2001. Each
team left the Institute with an action plan to focus and guide their
activities in the coming school year. TCI provides sustained support
over the full year: The Summer Institute is complemented by three
additional full-day conferences, regional events, on-line resources,
and the right to ask for help from a set of experienced consultants.

We're Funded By...
The Technology and Curriculum Integration Leadership Program is
an initiative of Mass Networks Education Partnership. In its first
years the program was supported by funding from The AT&T Foundation,
Quantum Corporation and the Massachusetts Department of Education,
in addition to participant fees. The expiration of the AT&T
and Quantum grants has necessitated an increase in the still reasonable
amount charged to participating districts.
